Only as long as you pour it directly into the Air Intake.

It’s probably just paint thinner in an expensive bottle. One of them YT mechanics promotes using something like that before replacing the catalytic converter. When I was getting P0420 codes on my piece of junk, I ordered an O2 spacer thingy from Amazon and it did the trick to get the CEL to go off and not come back on again.

“no fix  comes in a bottle” is what my dad told me. I tend to agree

Glue comes in a bottle and fixes things.

Man that websites making is sketchy. What do they want us to believe here? That foamy water is going to come flying out of my pipe because I put 6 oz in a 20 gallon tank? They just spliced together some clips from flooded exhaust and some revving (of different cars).

( 20 years making wine professionally, so maybe I’m just jaded.)

My bro owns an agency and is a WSET grad, so we’re very much wine geeks.

The bottles we’ve opened...man.  Are you in California?

There are fuels that can kill catalytic converters, but I doubt anything that goes through the engine can reverse any of the chemistry.

I love that stuff coming out of the Columbia and Willamet valleys.  Interesting cold climate Pinots.  I think I’ve had some cool Chablis style Chards from that area as well.

I Googled to see if those were even still a thing, turns out, yep, they are still around and available, so people must be buying then in 2020. But, then, homeopathic medicines are something like a $6 billion a year industry.

It’s funny, since the Columbia Valley is the biggest AVA in Washington, it gets discounted by wine bros . Not so many years ago, there weren’t any Red Mountain or Horse Heaven Hills snobs loyalists, because they were just regions with in the greater Columbia Valley. Yet there are amazing growers tending fantastic fruit all over the CV, but many of them can’t command the same price per ton as lesser growers in the smaller AVAs that have a bit more cachet at the moment.

I’m not a huge fan of Oregon wines, but there are definitely some good ‘uns in the Willamette Valley. However, Oregon is way too high on its own supply re: Pinot. Some are quite good, but I can’t justify paying what many of them are asking. Oregon vintners & some of the guys down in the Columbia Gorge do seem to be more willing to play around & not just stick to the best known/most popular styles & methods, vs much of the rest of WA . I’d love to see a move towards more unoaked, non-malo Chardonnay - it’s a whole different beast that what most American drinkers recognize, and I find it far more appealing & food-friendly. (Along those lines, I’d really like to see vinho verde & Gruner Veltliner take off here, but I’m not going to hold my breath.)

OK, that was a lot of geeking about wine; enough # oenolopnik for one night. I’ve got the last 2 eps of Schitt’s Creek & a couple cold Rainiers calling my name!

Sounds similar to Cataclean .

I tried Cataclean once on my old Thunderbird, and it did in fact make the P0420/P0430 go away... briefly. It lasted maybe a week or two before the light popped back on. Not wanting to keep dropping $25 per bottle, I looked up the MSDS to find that it was mostly xylene, acetone, and isopropyl alcohol. So I started making my own blend and used that for a while until I found a used low-mile converter for cheap.

The O2 spacer is really an O2 sensor delete, if it was the downstream one and it clears your CEL, you’re cat’s not working.

Yeah.  I figured that out pretty quickly.  I bought the car and should have had a mechanic look at it first.  I think the seller cleared the codes and then shortly after buying it I started getting the CEL.  I put my scanner on it and monitored the downstream o2 sensor data and figured out the the cat was dead.  I’m not in an inspection state so I patched the problem with the spacer to trick the computer that things were OK.  Its what you do.

I don’t know much about the Washington /Oregon wine scene because we are so Euro-centric on the higher end, BC VQA for the local leaners. I remember the first bottle that even got me interested in NW US wine.. the ubiquitous (now) .L’Ecole 41 Cab Sav. That was 25 years ago.

Aaaaand don’t get me started with weird and wonderful varietals/ appellations ...

Ah, didn’t realize you were Canadian (hey, kinda neighbor!), but that clears up the mention of your brother owning an agency. Oppo seems to skew Canandian, at least much more than the FP, so I shoulda coulda guessed.

Likewise, I don’t know much about wines from north of the 49th parallel, because we don’t really see too much of it aside from late harvest & ice wines. Sweet wines are not for me.
